Okay. I reckon we should have a meet-up sometime soon.
I reckon somewhere in or around the city would be best, as it is central for pretty much everyone.Any ideas of a nice, family friendly place for us to meet? I'll make all of the required reservations for us once we've chosen a place and time. (Tors edit to add the time & date )

That place sounds awesome! I wonder what the situation for parking is. I'll give them a call tomorrow to find out. |

Oooh, that place sounds like Soda Rock, this American Style 50s diner in South Yarra. I love that place; first place I found root beer here and the burgers are great. :lurve: Misty's looks like they have even more to offer, sounds nice!

Okay, y'all! I called Misty's Diner about parking, and she said that there's "heaps of parking all over" in the evenings. She's also American (yay for a similar accent!) and will be happy to make a booking for us.How about this: DATE: Saturday, 28 July 2007 TIME: 7:00 PM PLACE: Misty's Diner - 103-105 High Street, Prahran Any objections? |

So is there anyone else in Melbourne who has kids? Not sure that I'd bring them anyway, but if I want Dale to come (hmm?) it will cost a chunk for a babysitter, unless I can find someone to fob them off on for a while. |

I know that Chris and Allan (canaandownunder and mistrfish) have a son. Not sure if they'll be coming along, though. Hopefully they will! They rock!

I'm SOOOO bummed! I was really looking forward to a meet up but we have friends visiting from Brisbane that weekend. :waah: I hope this can become a bit of a regular thing since there are a fair few of us yanks in Melbourne! |

Not to sound like an oddball or anything, but I grew up in small towns and this is my first time living in such a huge city and I am such a wimp when it comes to going out by myself (plus I am super, super shy, hope you all will keep that in mind), so I will have to check with my hubby first so he can come with me. I'm think he'll be cool with it, but I'd better run it by him first before agreeing. |

We can always change the date. It's definitely not set in stone. I just picked it because it's close enough to look forward to in the near future, but far enough away for people to plan ahead of time for. Would Saturday, 4 August work better for everyone? |

Absolutely no worries. I really hope you do come, though! And don't worry...I'm incredibly shy myself! I know a few of us are, actually.
Is 4 August okay for you guys?
Sweet!

LOL Neither do I, so don't feel too bad! I guess it's now on 4 August then. Would you guys mind making it 6:30 instead of 7:00 as well? 6:30 seems a more "family friendly" time to have dinner, and kids are more than welcome to come. Misty's looks like a pretty groovy place for the kiddies.:the-wave: |
