As of this morning, Nick and I have put an offer on our first house together. I won't go into detail yet, but there is A LOT of interest on this house and at least two other offers that we're aware of. I'm not overly optimistic about it for obvious reasons, but we really want this house. If you guys could pray or send good vibes over about us getting this house, I'd appreciate it. The agents aren't presenting offers to the client for at least another week (which is inspiring a bidding war amongst all interested parties), so I'm sure our chances are pretty slim. :arrgh: :smash: :flip: :aak: :banghead: :pop: But as they say in the movies...it ain't over 'til it's over! Thanks, guys! |

Just thought I'd update everyone on what's going on. Nick and I ended up looking at other houses and, after careful consideration, decided to withdraw our offer on that house. We felt that we had offered more than we wanted to out of fear and we were no longer sure about the house. The agent didn't seem to care, as she had 7 other offers on the house aside from ours. Figures. BUT, we found an EXCELLENT house in the location we want to live in. It needs some work, but it is fantastic. The backyard overlooks some forested land, and it's quiet and beautiful. We put an offer on it yesterday, and should hear back either tonight or tomorrow morning about it. Fingers crossed. I've been waiting by the phone all evening, and I'm SO FREAKING NERVOUS!!! I wish we knew either way. I know that if we don't get it, there will be others. But not knowing is an absolute bitch! :waah: :flip: :banghead: Aaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, I'll keep you posted! |

Dev, I'm proud of you two. You both realized that you two were reacting out of fear and that you were going to be paying more than what you wanted. Youthful exuberance says "pay for the house and forget the consequences" and wisdom says "hmm, I don't think this is what we want and we may be paying to much".
