Thanks everyone! :)) There's just one small fly in the ointment... Kirk was originally told by the recruitment firm that the job was a 12-month contract with the option of becoming permanent, but yesterday his new supervisor informed him that it will only last until February; apparently he's filling in for someone on maternity leave. I have a feeling that they really have no idea when or if this person is going to return to work, but the date is set for February so that's what they're telling him. Anyway, not to look a gift horse in the mouth, I mean we DO need the money, but it's kind of annoying that we didn't know sooner as there were other permanent jobs Kirk would've applied for instead.  Ah well.

Tors, Neal has a saying it is easier to get a job when you have a job. Kirk may want to keep looking and applying for a job. Especially before February gets upon us. No one would fault Kirk for taking care of his family. Just something to think about. Jennifer |

Yeah... it's funny, he was telling me that yesterday he got a call from the government recruitment agency offering him two jobs! They were both temporary, however, so he gave it a miss. I asked him if he wanted me to send in his application for an advertised permanent position (of which there are 12 vacancies)... we spent 2 days writing up this HUGE selection criteria statement... but he's not sure. Mr. Loyal, doesn't want to run out on the people he's working with now and he really likes it there. He says he hopes he can snag a permanent position with them at some point. So, I dunno. To quote Kirk, we'll see how we go. |
