I still make mistakes and turn on the wipers instead of the blinkers.

Oh, me too! Especially if I've zoned out for a bit.

Roundabouts scrambled my dyslexic brain for a while, I always had the urge to go right.

This was definitely a problem for me at first, but it's gotten better over time.

I also have a tendency to get confused when making a right turn. Though I'm making the turn from the left lane I still want to turn into the right lane sometimes if I'm not paying attention. Haven't actually done it yet, but I can feel the urge ...

My primary problem now is hugging the curb and making Michael nervous that I'm going to hit cars parked on the street as I drive past. I always feel like I'm crossing the center line, so I tend to stay a bit further left than I should. But then again, Michael has a boat of a sedan and I'm not used to that at all. I just bought a Honda CRV -- picking it up tomorrow -- which is more my size, and I'm hoping that'll help. Getting the Victorian driver's license next week! I still can't believe they don't require a practical or written exam for all of us right-hand drivers, but I'm not complaining!

ahhh, me too! I'm SHORT! 8) And in the big ol sedan, I couldn't gauge where the left side of the car was... I only ever barely brushed a rubbish bin with the mirror, but constantly worried about parked cars. You'll LOVE the CRV!!! :lurve: :hugs:

You want some real fun, try driving in England on the left (no, I didn't do it, but Mandy did). Some of the roads were so narrow that she was almost literally in the bushes (and the mirror did some scraping)! :aak: At least most of the Australian roads I've seen aren't narrow like that!

It didn't take me too long (although I admit I avoided the car park with narrow spots and I would go out of my way to not have to drive through our big 65 spoke round about for a couple of weeks.

Instead of telling myself to "stay on the left", I was advised to tell myself "passengers in the curb -Driver to the middle" as its supposedly easier when you go back to the US. I haven't done the "American Wave" (wiper blades) in a while. ;-)
