Hey Mindy- I've been already, and I wasn't too impressed with the spread. There were three tables, and one was full of pop. Between the other two, from what I remember, there was some candy (mostly reese's and butterfingers, both of which you can already find in Sydney), some packets of dried ranch dressing ($3.50 a packet!), Cheerios, and some BBQ sauce. I can't remember what else! Are you looking for anything in particular? I work literally a block away so I'll pop in tomorrow at lunch (I usually find my way to Myer at lunchtime anyhow;)) so I'll look to see what else! |

Oh if you can that would be great.. is there any cereal besides cheerios? Like fruity pebbles or apple jacks? stove top stuffing? what about pop tarts? thank you very much again.. I would just feel it be a waste to take an hour train ride in to find a small selection like what they have at david jones. |

Hi! Ok, I just got back. The only cereal they had today was Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I talked to the lady working the stand and she said things are going fast, but they’re getting another shipment on Monday. This is what else they had (that I remember!): Libby’s pumpkin in a can Light corn syrup Swiss Miss hot chocolate mix Small bottles of A1 Wishbone Blue Cheese dressing Jack Daniels sauce Jiffy’s corn muffin mix Angel food cake (but only two boxes left!) Peanut butter Grape jelly Marshmallow Fluff Campbell’s clam chowder Cans of black beans Cinnamon Toast Crunch Twizzlers Tootsie rolls Peanut butter M&Ms Crisco Graham crackers Ok... that’s all I remember at the moment! Oh, and no pop tarts- but you can get them at Sugar Fix, which is in the food court just below Myer. I believe they are $2.80 for a pack of two and $15.90 for a pack of six (yikes!). Sugar Fix also has Aunt Jemina’s pancake mix and syrup, A1 sauce, BBQ sauce, tons of American candy and pop, and a few other things that slip my mind at the moment. Oh, and no Stove Top- if I remember reading on their site correctly, they are no longer allowed to import Stove Top! |

They brought corn syrup to Australia? Seriously? The greatest thing about Australian snack foods is that they are devoid of corn syrup! That stuff is terrible for you. But I am a little excited at the thought of peanut butter cups. |

I am a fanatic label reader and I was pretty sure Reese's has real peanut butter in it, but in the interest of research , I bought some today and indeed the ingredients are Milk Chocolate (sugar, cocoa butter, chocolate, nonfat milk, milk fat, lactose and soy lecithin & Pgpr as emulsifiers) Peanuts, Sugar, Dextrose (this is glucose) Salt, and TBHQ as preservative. So there you go--it's practically health food!! :rollin: Is regular corn syrup as bad for you as high fructose corn syrup? As a fanatic label reader, the two ingredients I try to avoid are trans fats and HFCS. Those two are in practically everything though! (Sorry this is totally off-topic!!) |

High Fructose Corn Syrup is worse as it has undergone an enzyme process to add fructose to the glucose in the corn. Corn is less expensive than sugar cane and sugar beets, so the US uses it in everything. After contracting a mild case of Gestational Diabetes, I have been amazed to see what sugar from corn does to my blood levels. As for the peanut butter cups...I know it is scary stuff and I am actually doing OK with them not in my life. It is a learning process for me, but I am getting more and more interested in the healthy eating. (That part is for my husband who will read this post.) |

i was very disappointed with the usa foods display in adelaide. i walked all over the myer store, bottom to top, and couldnt find it anywhere. eventually i asked one of the shop assistants if she knew where it was. she didnt, but someone else did. it was on the ground floor, right at the back, near the north tce entrance!!! no-one goes in that way, everyone i know uses the rundle mall entrance. anyway, i got some cheerios for my daughter (she doesnt like our aussie ones), some chex mix (we miss that stuff terribly), a jar of vlasek relish, brownie mix, ranch dressing, pancake mix, and a couple of other things. cost me almost $70!!!! we went back yesterday for some more chex mix, lol, and some lollies (ok, candy), and jack daniels bbq sauce. i asked the lady who was there last week about a couple of things i thought would go down well here, so she got someone from melbourne to call me. that person assured me that my requests would be here this week. they werent. oh well, at least i have chex mix... |
