I know this is incredibly un-Australian of me, but I can't get into Milo. I'm having a MASSIVE sweet craving right now, and all we have in the house is milk and Milo. I'm having some right now, but it's so weird. I don't like it.

Anyone else in the same boat?

No, I like Milo. It's not that sweet though, but it's not supposed to be. It's marketed as something to give the kids a little energy as if they needed more!:)

You need to go to the store and get something sweeter. Like some TimTams or Coco puffs:)

I read recently that Nestle has just changed the formula of Milo and made it more chocolatey and less malty. They also made it dissolve more quickly, which actually takes half the fun out of it - the reason for having a drink of cold Milo is so you can eat the crunchy bits off the top. (Just ask my 22 year old daughter). In my opinion, they spoiled it. It's not nearly as good as it used to be even a year ago. But of course I'm Australian and have been drinking it most of my life.

if you don't like milo.. try sustegen (sp?) the dutch chocolate is sooo good! it use to have the tick, but now it doesn't for some reason. but i still drink it. yummy.

i remember when i first came to australia as a student they had a coffee/tea/hot chocolate/milo machine. i would get milo all the time. then one day i gagged on it. and just couldn't drink it after that. who knows why?! so funny. :P

Ha ha, I love Nesquick. Hubby likes Milo but I did the shopping last week so I snuck it in. I'm not a fan of Milo either (but I do like Nesquick on my icecream!)

There is nothing better than a hot milo on a cold day, or milo sprinkled over ice cream to give it a great taste. My boys lived off Milo and would even put it on their toast in the mornings. Hmm, not sure about that one myself.

I was talking today on my podcast how much I dislike Milo and all the floaties it leaves on the top of milk. BUT I do like the cereal though. I have like 3 kinds of Nesquick here that I mix together sometimes. The chocolate and caramel stuff is good mixed together.

yeah :headscratch: If you expect Nestle's Quik, Milo can shock you, with the "floaties"
We bought a 450gm can before my 19-yr-old came to visit, and it's still here 2&1/2 years later, with only a couple servings used.
Though, if I ate ice cream, or needed the extra carbs, I might have eaten it, it doesn't taste BAD, to me, just nothing I care to eat! 8)

I love scooping the floaties off and eating them before I drink my Milo. Very tasty. It's an Aussie kid tradition, I think.

I am almost there myself. I tried Milo last week and though it has potential, by itself I was surprised by it in a not so nice way. I think I was expecting hot chocolate and got...not that. I think it might be good with some extra spenda and mixed with cocoa? Does it really give one extra energy or is that a clever marketing idea? If it does might mix it with some nutella or tea in the mornings.

Wheetbix. It's just a little too dense for me. I am thinking the flavoured kind might be alright, but is there a variety where it's in little squares and a bit more consumable?

V-mite, yeah no. Anyone see that pic of me on facebook---I think I did my time with it.

We love Milo. I first started drinking it as a teenager in Australia and introduced my kids to it when we were took our first family trip there. Here in California I'm able to find it at the Indian markets, so we always get a can at Christmas. We like it cold as well as hot, like cocoa. I've always thought it was a lot like Ovaltine because of the malt flavor.

I love Nestle's Quik...well Nesquick here but I have gestational diabetes so my hubby tried to give me some Milo. I soo didn't like it. I haven't completely given up on it though. I'm willing to give it another try for my hubby's sake. On a cold winter day, he'll make me a mug of hot milo to see if I'll like it hot instead of cold. I pass on the Weet Bix and Vegemite. Totally not a fan but I'm hoping my little boys will be.
Take care,
Yessie

I love Milo. Sometimes I add a spoon of Nestle's Malt into it. My Aussie MIL gave me a bottle of Hershey's Syrup not too long ago -- my husband was all over that :-)
