I have discovered a group of clothing outlet stores on Smith St. between Victoria Parade and Johnston St. in the Collingwood/Fitzroy area of Melbourne. A varirty of brand name cloths and shoes are for sale at discounted prices. As I don't shop much for cloths I am not really sure how much of a savings they are compared to normal retail prices but it looks as if there are some bargains to be had. If anyone is planning on shopping for clothing in Melbourne this would be a good area to shop around a bit. There is also a Breville-Kambrook small appliance store here. |

i *love* outlet stores. I'm spoiled now between the ones on the Eastern Shore, and in Pennsylvania and Virginia. I wonder if there are any in Perth? |

Yes, Pamm, there's Harbour Town, but it's not as big as the outlet stores in the US, IMO |

We went just after Xmas and were disappointed. They are similar to some US outlet stores in that there are a lot of outdated styles and really low quality junk. I did find a women's store where I got a few good buys, but overall I'd have to say they were not so great. But outlet stores can be hit or miss so we may visit again at some point in the future! |

Speaking of DFO, we went to the DFO in Canberra in November and thought it was pretty good!! We got a nice doona cover and a sheet set for a really good price and overall we were impressed. Unlike the Brand Depot there - that place is appalling! Squashy - I hope you get an Ikea there - I love it too! We can get to the one in Melbourne in 15 minutes from our house. Yay! |
