:omg: I was just having a look at the USA Foods website, for the first time actually. I was having a browse and thinking there wasn't really that much I missed, the only thing I REALLY needed from the US was my Old Bay seasoning.

Then .... HORROR!

Old bay is not allowed into australia as there are several spices in it that quarantine has a banned on. If you have someone ship it over quarantine may confisicate it if they find it.

Apparently this is a new thing because they use to sell it and I have bought mine locally in Hobart before. I might have to run down and see if they have any left and stock up!!
I brought Old Bay in last month when I came back from the States. It was inspected and allowed through customs. I also received a container from another fellow Marylander last summer. I'm surprised that you were told it was banned. Bummer. I've got Maryland Crab Soup in the fridge right now, made using Blue Swimmer Crabs we caught down here in Mandurah, WA.

Have you tried to have some sent to you from your people in the states?

Squashy made that post back in 2009, so perhaps policy has changed since then? It sounds like other people are getting their Old Bay through, too.
*goes to see if USA Foods is selling it again* :goodonya:
