Skills Assessment Application Sent (ANMC): July 16, 2009
Skills Assessment approval: August 26, 2009

Application lodged Online: Sept 14, 2009
Medicals/Bloods/Chest Xray Done Sept 15, 2009 (at HBA in Melbourne, I highly recommend them)
Further medicals done and updated letter sent to HBA November 18, 2009

All Documents Checklist updated as "Met" 11/12/2009
Case officer assigned 17/12/2009
AFP/FBI reports requested/applied 17/12/2009
AFP report submitted 11/1/10
FBI finally charged my CC for the request 26/2/10
FBI report received 12/3/2010
Visa Pre-granted 17/3/2010


This this may be approved quicker than I thought!

Like you said, Julie, at least the ball is rolling now. :) I think the worst part of filing my stupid spousal visa app was the grousing and worrying about it. Once I actually got myself together and DID it, it was just a matter of patience ... and in your case, another appointment or two. :goodonya: Good luck! I'm sure it'll be a no-brainer for Immi, though. :)

Received an email today that my visa has been pre-granted...just need to leave the country when I go home for my sister's wedding in May and I'll officially be a permanent resident! Hip Hip horray!! :)

So you leave as a temp resident and re-enter Australia as a PR? Does it need to be approved while you are overseas?

Yea, I'll prob have to go to the consulate in LA while I'm home. But I'll be home for 3 weeks so it all works out ok :)

Oh definitely!! This is my second time through in Aussie Visa land and even though I had to jump through a few extra hoops this time with my medicals and wait ever so patiently for the FBI it's definately all work it in the end... :)
