FBI police checks requested: June 2009 FBI police check recieved: mid-July 2009 Medicals done in USA by panel doc: 9/4/2009 Spouse visa (subclass 309) application materials sent to AUS Embassy in Washington DC: 9/24/09 Credit card charged ($1280 USD, ouch): 9/30/09 Initial email from Australian Embassy assigning case officer (N. P.) and File Number: 10/12/09 (email stated it would looked at within 8 weeks) Email sent to case officer, question about visiting AUS over X-mas while offshore visa is being processed: Oct 20, 2009 Response email within 1 hour stating a normal ETA tourist visa is sufficient. I was hoping that they would say, don't worry you'll be granted your partner visa by then... Email sent to case officer asking if they had all the documentation they needed for decision: Dec. 2, 2009 Quick email response again from CO saying my application is scheduled to be looked at next week and they would let me know then. Note that this is 8 weeks after they said they would look at my application within 8 weeks, I guess they're busy... Dec. 11th 2009 - Spouse Visa Granted (provisional - subclass 309) via email. The letter says I do not need to send in my passport as this is a 'label free' visa. So now I can come and go as I please and work within Australia!!! Thanks for all the clarifications and general knowledge everyone. Edited by gmk, Dec 14 2009, 06:21:24 AM.

Good luck with it all! Also, you should remove the name of the CO, and just use initials. Tors (the board owner) had some issues with that a while back. |
