Talk about getting your hopes up and then immediately smacked down. I got a letter from DIAC just now. I anxiously opened it, hoping for a letter informing me when to take my citizenship test... and it was a stupid survey, "Living in Australia."............and that was it. DAMMIT. :finger:

But aren't you glad they value your opinion? Don't you feel loved? ;-)

Yeah, that actually involves them DOING something though. You know. It's like hard and stuff.

Well wouldn't ya know it.... I got the appointment letter for the test today.... and my appointment is 08 February 2010..................... :banghead: :banghead:

The letter is dated 15 January. Effing Australia Post!!! :finger: I have had nothing but delays with my mail redirect since I moved up here and have had to ring them countless times. Now this really pisses me off. It's hard for me to keep appointments with my job as it is.

My address on it is labeled as the Tassie address but I already changed it with DIAC.....and they scheduled for me to take it in Melbourne... Now how messed up is that????????

Wow, do they do it that fast in Melbourne? My citizenship process took approx 9 months from the citizenship test to the date of the ceremony (a yr ago) in the Sydney area.

I think it depends on which council does it and how often they do ceremonies. Which council were you waiting on Suzn?

Well, I passed  I only had one tiny snaffu with a missing document that I thought I had with me but I just have to post it off to them. She said it will be about six months, depending on your local council. I'll be waiting on Banyule.
