I'm getting married in 6 days. I cannot get my digital camera to work. I cannot get the pictures off of it and onto the computer (any of the 3 we have) for some reason. I'm stressing about the visa, about going home in a month, and about my aussie's family all being here for the wedding and having to cook for them from Thursday until Sunday. His divorce (which has been in the works for 2 years and became final on Jan 6) papers aren't here yet and we can't get married without them (the courthouse says they are in transit). I'm stressing about us moving to Brisbane when I come back and about what kind of job I'm going to be able to find. If my visa takes longer than 3 months he's going to have to pack up and move without me. What kind of work am I going to find? I've been an RN back home since 1986 but won't be recognized as an RN here (associate's degree). I'm ready to just throw the freakin camera out the window, along with the computer. aghhhhhh |

You really are a sweetheart Nikki. You and Dan make me miss my kids! I'm going to take the memory card to one of those photo kiosks today. I'll see if I can get the pictures off that way. I tried to put the card in my computer and couldn't get them that way. I believe the usb card I have is the wrong cord. It needs to be an Olympus. I can't find it. I looked closely at the cord last night and it's a Kodac. It fit the camera but that's the last camera I had. I hate worrying about a camera at this point. I have way too much on my plate right now. I am so worried I'm going to marry Mark and the spouse Visa will fall through. What then? aghhhhh again. |

 Hi Vicki! and STOP STRESSING, you'll only make yourself sick. And you need to be in good shape for your wedding!  Chances of your Spouse visa being denied are pretty slim, unless you have a huge criminal record. If they approved decrepit ol me, you'll breeze right through, so stop worrying. Hang in there, relax, and just think about how beautiful next Saturday is going to be. Tell the rellies to go out to eat if you need some space, I'm sure they'll understand. Lisa |

Thanks Lisa. No criminal record. Lol, I've only ever had 2 speeding tickets in my whole life. That's as close as I come to any record. I've lost 7 kg in the last 2 weeks and I'm not even trying. I guess that's the good part of this stress. I try to keep thinking that this time 6 months from now I should be home in Brisbane, away from his ex-wife, married and with a job. I am trying to visualize the end of all of what's going on right now. I've finally came up with fajitas, hamburgers and bbq chicken when they're here. The brothers can go out an bbq it. That should be a bit easier on me. I'm taking the camera to the mall in a bit and trying to copy the pictures onto a disc and finding the right kind of usb cord for it before I throw it against a brick wall! Thanks for your support. Vicki ps...You got your bd and anniversary pressies last week, what did your aussie get you for valentines day??? Mine said I have him. lol (I'll hit him up when we go to the states!) |

Hey Vicki! Just wondering if you managed to get the photos off of that camera today! If you need - I have a cord that we could try?? Not sure if it will fit your camera but it can't hurt to try! Fajitas, hamburgers and bbq chicken sounds yummy! Good choices!  Also very smart thinking on your part having the guys do the bbqing too!

Hi Nikki, I bought a card reader today and thank GOD it works. I was so stressed about that. I called #1 son and he suggested the card reader. I hope you had a good Valentine's day with your honey. We didn't do much. Went to the market at Mt Pleasant. Watched TV... good stuff. Thank you so much for offering to help. Sometimes computer stuff gets the best of me.  Talk to you soon.
