Time to start another timeline going. Too bad my old one for the first visa got all discombobulated in the forum crash! 6/4/10 - Received paperwork in the post. Felt overwhelmed and immediately chucked it to the side. 7/4/10 - Put paperwork back in envelope to bring to work. Easier to concentrate at the office.  21/4/10 - Finally got off my arse and sent in for the AFP. 30/4/10 - Received my "Nothing to Report" paperwork back from AFP. What a relief.  17/5/10 - Sent! Waiting...  24/5/10 - Received confirmation card from Dept of Immi to say they received my application on 19/5 15/7/10 - Received a letter from DIAC saying they needed my AFP check. 19/7/19 - Called my case officer and explained the AFP check had been sent with the application. Case officer rechecked my file and found it had been overlooked. She said she will be able to make a final decision today and send out the results in the mail. 22/7/19 - Received letter of approval!

Good luck! We recently sent our 2nd stage application off and got a really quick response from the Melbourne office. They received the application for processing on 29/4/10 and we got a response on 17/5 telling us I'm a permanent resident.

I got a letter in the post last Thursday from my case officer at the DIAC. It said they needed me to do an AFP check. So I called her up today and she looked through my paperwork and found it. I guess I shouldn't have left it in the envelope it came in. XD The case officer said she would be able to make her final decision today (that sounds so ominous) and will post the results today or tomorrow.
