We watched last week (Guadalcanal campaign), and it was excellent. This week, our soldiers will be in Melbourne - in 1943. Can't wait!

Anyone else watching?

We are watching... but I'm mostly watching behind a pillow... I don't like violence and stuff and yes I realize its a program about war.

It's good, but not as good as Band of Brothers, probably because it is centered around individual characters and not around an entire company. I'm not looking forward to Wednesday night's episode, but at least people down here don't seem to be watching it.

According to the ratings, someone must be watching it as it beat out "hey hey its Saturday"... which was on shown on a Wednesday? Irony anyone? We put both shows on the DVR so I didn't have to choose.

I heard on the radio last week that Hey Hey was first. Perhaps that was Melbourne only.

because back in the day, it WAS on saturday... first as a kids morning show, then it progressed to saturday night (mostly adult humour), and a lot of people would watch it before heading on their night out. it was axed about 10 years ago, and since then, theres been talk of it coming back. it got very stale near the end of its 21+ year run, and now i just couldnt be bothered watching it.

I'm a bit ahead of you guys (we just aired episode 7 in the States) but I'm really enjoying it so far. My fiance's Pop served in Papua New Guinea during the war and when they are on New Britain Island, that is where he was at. Anyway, interesting to have been watching last week and thinking about all the horrible stuff those guys went through and thinking about Pop while you guys were celebrating ANZAC Day (which Pop still proudly walks in with my fiance and his brother every year, even though he is 87 years old and can hardly see a thing!).

Guys, if you can get it, watch the Australian Mini series ANZACS, deals with WW1, excellenbt, stars Paul Hogan as Pat Cleary, in his best role. Also a good book about Marines in the Pacfic is Leon Uris BATTLE CRY Uris served in the USMC 6th Marines in Guadalcanal, Tarawa, and Okinawa.
