I was always a bit of a tom boy growing up. I was never really taught how to be a proper girl and couldn't be stuffed dealing with things like make-up when I got old enough to care. That has slowly started changing in the past year or so - I've started actually taking care of myself and doing all of that girly rubbish I'd been avoiding for so long.

Tonight's installment of "Adventures of Womanhood" - Facial waxing! *shudder* I got some of those DIY waxing strips from Coles this arvo and just tried them out. They're apparently made for sensitive skin. Weeeeeeeeeell...let's just say that the resulting fire makes me wonder what the normal ones are like. OMG! WHY do us women do this to ourselves?!

Anyway...ice was only helping calm my self-inflicted injury temporarily, so I started rummaging around my cupboards for something that might help. I managed to locate (of all things) a tube of MyChelle X-zema Balm under my sink. It's an all-natural remedy for eczema and other skin irritations. (Can't remember where, when or why I got it, but there you go.) So I figured, "Ehh...what the hell!" and tried it. We're still in early days here, but it's worked REALLY well so far! The fire is gone and there's only a dull ache. This definitely makes for one happy Devon!

So this has made me wonder: Are there any other good remedies for curing the post-wax blues?

I have no answer to your waxing blues but I am interested in the balm that you mentioned in your post... did you buy it here in Australia? I have skin issues and I'm always looking for something that will help! Thanks!

I used to use "neosporin + pain relief" which I brought with me here from the states...helps keep the ingrown blues away as well as the general pain.

Now that I do laser hair removal my lady recommends that lotion they use on baby's bottoms (sorry the name is escaping me) for nappy rash...it works a treat!

After I get my eyebrows done witch hazel works a treat for swelling as well :)

Bepanthen? That's what they suggest here as aftercare lotion for fresh tattoos. :)

It works. :agree: I don't know of a product in the US that has Panthenol in it, and that stuff is miraculous! :goodonya:
