I was assigned a CO on April 13 and I'm having to file offshore (subclass 309 VISA). I'm in Texas right now. Anyone else waiting in the USA right now? I haven't heard anything else from the CO, other than she's received it. I wanna go home Vicki |

Hi Vicki I am in Florida and I want to go too, but am waiting to see if hubby is approved. We applied in for 309/100 in Dec, CO (different one to you) assigned in Jan and had meds and pcc requested then sent in Feb, then specialist report end of April, which had to go off to Sydney. We are just hanging on, stressing big time. My youngest had a baby girl last month and I want to see her and her older brother who I have only been able to see on webcam. We should compare notes, have you started packing yet? pm me, if you like |

I am about to send off my on-shore spouse visa application in a few days (once the stat decs arrive in the mail). I am in Perth with my husband right now. But I've been in your place before... I came to Australia from WI after waiting 3 months for my prospective spouse visa to be approved. But I didn't leave until 4 months AFTER my visa was approved so I could earn some money for the wedding. It sucks. But it really helps me appreciate being here in the same country as my husband. I don't think you have much longer to wait... Do you have your FBI check done? will you be flying out immediately? Wishing you a speedy grant... keep us posted! |

WOW... so your hubby was assigned a CO long before me even. I'm so sorry. I know you want to see your grandbabies. I thought I wanted to be back here but now I realize I just want to be wherever my hubby is. I have had trouble making friends in Australia. Of course, I'm not going to meet many of them from my living room. Too bad we're not in the same state now-- misery loves company- lol. I read all the things you missed about Australia- besides family--funny, our lists for what we miss about our home country is about the same. The memory of those things is better for me then how they've been since I've been back here though. My hubby was here for a 6 week visit but had to go home. We also communicate by cam mostly. Skype has been cheap for the long distance though. I'm glad someone suggested that (thanks Nikki). I have basically been living out of suitcases this 8 weeks that I've been here. I'm going back and forth between my son's and my mom's houses. I can't wait to hear about your case. Hopefully I won't be too far behind you. Please pm me also. btw, we live in Mackay QLD but will be moving to northern Brisbane later in the year. Vicki |

Hi Meg, It really does help to read about other's people's stories and to know other's know exactly what you're going thru. I rescheduled my return ticket for Sept 3 since I had to have a date on the ticket. If I get approved really soon I'll probably just reschedule the ticket and go asap... if it's anywhere near Sept 3 I'll wait though to avoid the change fees. I have looked into working while I'm here since I haven't worked this past year I've been in Australia. Haven't had much luck finding a job (they wonder why I haven't worked in this past year, I'm an RN here, but can't be in Australia without a Bachelor's degree...I'll worry about where I'll work there when I come to that I guess). The FBI report was sent about 2 weeks ago, so everything is in. We hired an immigration agent so some of the stress with the paperwork is off my shoulders. Good luck on your spouse visa. So good you could apply for yours onshore. Vicki |

We knew ours would be more complex with health complications, but now its the realisation that we cant book tickets as we have no idea how much longer we will wait to hear. Luckily I have my aussie voip set up so it costs me very little to call my kids. I know they dont miss me as much as I miss them though, even though they are all adults with their own lives. I have been trying to shed some of the "stuff" we have collected in the last 5 years and feel that we are almost camping out. Eve4ry time i get another carton packed you can quarantee hubby wants something the very next day, its uncanny. We were given stuff from my mum in law when she sold her apartment and have just found out a couple of pieces are antiques and quite valuable, so we have been trying to organise sales for those pieces, (Im paranoid Im going to break them now) and even started to appreciate them, when before I didnt even like them. We waivered for a long time between taking everything and letting it all go and starting fresh, but our plans for that are all on hold again, I am so over being in limbo |

This is definitely the worst part. Immigration completely logjams all of your plans because you don't know if it'll be 3 days or 8 months. I was even lucky enough to go through it all onshore, and I can't say much other than I wish you guys the best of luck and *hugs*. I thought I had it bad not knowing when I'd be able to start working and earning money. |

Oh I'm worried and stressed about that too. Hubby says to not even worry about that right now. |
