Hi Everyone: My husband and I are applying for our offshore Partner Visa, and we are applying for the Partner Visa because we are married and planning on returning to Queensland (Hurray). We are not sending our application in to the DC until the last week of June. June 30th is the cut-off date before the new application fee is announced. Since no one knows what the new cost will be, we don’t want to take the chances of it going up (which it has done every other year). Since my hubby lived with me for a couple of years in Australia on a student visa, he has to get an Australian Federal Police Check done as well the State & FBI checks for the US…..pooooo….more waiting……more money... Since we are just starting our journey, I am going to post a timeline for everyone else to share with us! May 18th – Sent Finger prints to FBI - Cost $18 USD May 21st – Finger prints received at FBI – The monster wait begins…**SIGH** May 22nd – Mailed finger prints to Australian Federal Police – Cost $105 AUD May 27th – Received at Australian Federal Police…Another wait begins…**But at least they have it now...hurray** June 28th - Recieved AFP results in the mail. July 12th - Recieved FBI print results. August 18th – Sending off basic application to DC (not front loaded) – Cost $1,602 USD TBA – Getting state finger prints taken (State of Ohio will not mail results to the individual; they have to be mailed to the agency requesting them. So, because we don’t know how quick or slow they are likely to come back, we figured we would get them done the same day the app is sent via overnight courier to DC. We don’t want the DC receiving fingerprints when they haven’t even received our app yet J) Medical TBA – Appointment set with immigration panel doctor - Cost $329 USD Well folks, thats it for now... Cheers, Rachael & Kevin
