Who else is excited? We'll be cheering for Germany, Australia, and the US in this household.

I'm tipping Spain, Brazil, or Argentina to win. Germany maybe, but probably not with Ballack out.

My husband is super-duper excited. We'll be setting our alarm for US and Australia games.. watching them in bed with hot chocolates as not to wake the baby.
4 years ago we had little parties where peeps came over in their jammies and we all drank hot choc's and watched together.

BBBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

How irritating are those vuvuzelas?!!!

Other than that, it's been fun watching. I've never ever been interested in soccer before. Strange what living in Australia can do to you!

I saw this earlier today

This is your chance to enjoy the FIFA world championship 2010 WITHOUT the annoying Vuvuzela noise!

I haven't watched any of the matches, so I've never heard the horns ... but all the comments I've heard have been super negative, so you're not alone, Meg 8)

Yay World Cup soccer!!! I've played soccer since I was 8 so I'm so excited too! I'm definitely cheering for the US and I was cheering for Aus too but now they're out :(

Can't wait for the US/Ghana game. I've been having some friends over for some of the games. I'm glad I know some others who are into it too.

PS - what do you think of all of the cards that have been given in these Cup games so far??

I think some are justified (Pepe sliding his cleats into the ankle of a Brazilian), but a lot of them are crap. Especially Kewell's red card - how the hell could he have gotten out of the way?!

Yeah I agree - Kewell's was pretty crap. If you watch it in real-time I think it does look like he hit it with his arm and moved his arm a bit which I can see would be a red card, but when you watch it in slow-mo, he certainly wasn't trying to hit it with his arm at all and hardly moved his shoulder/arm at all - he was trying to stick his chest out for a chest ball. I guess that's the beauty of having no video-refs in the game of soccer. I think the Aussie team got ripped off a lot with cards though. I think I remember another red card for a slide-tackle from behind and he completely missed the ball but then another team did the same thing to them and the guy only got a yellow card.

I guess it just makes the game more interesting and gives fans something to talk about haha
