This is the annual American Women's Club 4th of July Fair:

(Posting it here as it's not a meetup, but a city-wide event)

That sounds like so much fun!
Still being stuck here in Texas, I will enjoy the 4th of July here probably more then I've enjoyed it in the past. I guess I always took it for granted before. Not this year!

At least you'll probably have fireworks, Vicki!

We won't be going to this Fair, we'll be on the annual 4th of July AMERICAN CAR CLUB of WA run, in a good ol left-hand drive pickup truck!

Lisa, about how many American cars are in your car club? My husband and I saw a Corvette the other day that was steering wheel on the left. It was really surprising to see. Do you need a special permit or something to drive a car with a left side steering wheel here? :headscratch: For some reason, I didn't think it was allowed.

Hi Tina! There's about 50 members in this car club, but some of them have 5 or 6 different cars.
There are also many other clubs, a Corvette club, several Ford clubs, a Mustang club, a Chevy club, another Chevy club just for 55's,56's and 57's, a Buick club, and the list goes on. On some of the big runs we've had well over 1000 cars.

As far as Licensing left hand drive vehicles, they don't need to be converted to right hand drive if they were manufactured more than 15 years ago. And no special permit is required to drive them.

Until a few years ago though, they were required to have this HUGE ugly sticker across the back window or bumper that read:
CAUTION: LEFT HAND DRIVE
I never COULD figure out whose benefit that was for :headscratch:
Other drivers, so they don't have a heart-attack when they see nobody sitting on the right?
Thankfully, they've done away with that requirement, because it was really ugly on some gorgeous old cars!

Here's another 4th of July event in Perth. It's at the Mustang Bar in Northbridge, starts at 1 PM and will be featuring live music.

Mustang Bar

Happy July 4th to everyone!
