May I just say though - Dove chocolate tastes completely different here. Also - Kit Kats are my ultimate favorites... I was excited to see that they are very popular here; but, again, they tase so different

Dove and Kit-Kats aren't Hershey, either. At least, I don't think they are. It's been too long...I was reading something on a different website which said that the main reason why Hershey's tastes different is because they use sour milk in their milk chocolate. I don't know if there's any truth to that, but the thought made me kinda sick. For a moment or two. I still love my Hershey Kisses. ![]() |

According to the guided tour of the Cadbury factory in Tasmania (an absolute must do if you are in the state), there are 2 things that make all the difference between Cadbury and Hershey. The first is the milk in Australia and the second is the amount of time that the chocolate is mixed - Cadbury's mixes their chocolate 2 or 3 times (can't remember due to the chocolate buzz I was on) longer then Hersheys thus it is creamier and richer. |

The Almighty Wiki says (on the Hershey Products page) that Kit-Kat is a Nestle product, but only in the US is it sold under the Hershey umbrella. And they're apparently responsible for the worst of all Halloween candy, Good n' Plenty. Edited by CynicalCountess, Aug 5 2010, 11:07:00 PM.

I rather like Cadbury chocolate; but the Kit Kat tasted like it had been coated in lighter fluid.... Maybe it's a different chocolate from Cadburys? |

I'd recommend Twizzlers (Strawberry only), tootsie rolls, jolly ranchers. My aussie palate isn't fond of Reeces nor Hersheys. You could also throw some Cinnamon gum in for a laugh! |

Cadbury compared with Hershey is like a few lepers having a pissing match over someone having one more finger. See's candies are very good. You can get them at LAX on the way over. |

Walk passed a shop earlier today and Pop Tarts happened to catch my eye... $14.30 a box. Daughter wanted some and was quickly told no...NOT paying that much that I used to pay $2.50 a box for at home. They were in flavours I had never seen before. Next time I'm there, I'll have to see where they are from.A small packet of Jolly Ranchers also caught my attention... those, but didn't check out the price on them, was afraid to!!

hot tamales (the cinnamon candy) My family here in the states has such a hankering for them, I would like them to send me some when I live there, but they will probably eat them all before they can get to the post office. I brought some over for my future in-laws, they liked them but found the cinnamon flavoring to be too spicy. |

The Candy Store in Leura is my favourite place... I regularly stock up on Reese's cups, Hershey chocolate and the like, but every now and then I find the rare gem like yesterday's find.... Gobstoppers, Spree and strawberry/lemonade Nerds. Squee! |
