Back to the USA someday	I've been on here WAY too much today, but I must say.... Thank you for all the information and posts about customs, quarantine, etc. Our container was inspected today and we had absolutely no issues. Our belongings will be delivered and unloaded on Friday and I think I might weep tears of joy right now. All my hours of scrubbing bike tires with toothbrushes paid off

The Land of Dixie I now live in... much farther south!-yay Melbourne I'm planning to move to... closer into the city	Merry Christmas! It will be so nice to have your things! I am still living in the US and I have no things, so that's kind of sad, but the yardsale I had paid for my $425 in medical exam fees! The plus side of no things is mobility, and no waiting, A and I get to go shopping! retail therapy!

And yes, Beckagator, fewer things makes life so much easier. 3 kids has limited my mobility significantly, which is likely a good thing as I'd have moved 20 more times than I have had I not had to move them and their stuff with me. Mimi... did you get your container? It sounds like our container was on the same boat as it pulled into Sydney the same day. I hope you get all your things soon. It really was like Christmas for my boys. Oh, and me too, I go crazy for real knives and forks and dishes. Hope our bed bugs didn't escape and crawl into your container during transit

How weird is it that you are in Melbourne and your stuff came into Sydney - We are in Sydney and our stuff came into Melbourne! It's gone through customs and quarantine with no issues - now we are just waiting on delivery. Hopefully early next week.

We got a 20' container Door-to-Door (from Miami, FL - Sydney), and it seems as though the AUS Agent is overcharging. Did you pay your AUS Agent AQIS & THC fees? If you don't mind me asking, what was the estimate and did you pay AQIS direct or through the agent? I have a sneaky suspicion they are giving me a bit of a run around. Everytime I ask for the offical AQIS invoice, it's always a new excuse/stall. I just want to see official docs itemizing fees so I know what I'm paying for and so I have some reassurance that they are not just charging whatever they want. Thanks for the input Unfortunately, or fortunately actually, we didn't see a bill for any of it as the company paid. I know we were not charged anything for cleaning or destruction. Sorry I can't be of any help!

Thanks for the input Well, we have a crate - it was about 3/4 the size of a 20' container. We paid about $3700.00 upfront for the entire service including packing, shipping, delivery, unpacking everything and removing all the trash. We knew going in that it didn't incude the fees on this end and I was a bit nervous; but the fees only ended up being $250.00. I have asked for an invoice so that I can get them reimbursed (Joe's company has been really good about reimbursing most aspects of the move) but I was quite relieved that it was so little. My next bundle of nerves is for when the movers get to our place and realize that they have to carry our stuff up four flights of stairs. I am hoping that they dont charge extra for that!
