Don't assume that what you have in Sydney is all over Australia!
I live in Sydney and you are right !!! I have been to Gundagai (A 4 hr drive) a few times where my hubby grew up and in order for you to go to any store u have to travel to Wagga Wagga and that is an hour drive !!! They don't even have a Woolworths there but an IGA!!! It is that small that u go to the top of the lookout and see the whole town!!! Seriously even the hospital is a 2 min walking distance where my hubby grew up !!!

yah - In Australia, city is city and bush is DEFINITELY in the middle of nowhere. You should go to Boorowa, NSW. On the sign on the way into town it says, "Hurrah! Hurrah! It's Boorowa!" I've never sure whether to laugh or to just shake my head.

I, too, miss Taco Bell. Late night runs for the border. Sigh.

I miss marching bands. I have yet to see any at any of the high schools I've been involved with.

I miss soul food: sweet potato pie, greens, fried catfish, so on and so forth.

I miss really, really, REALLY cheap books.

And Netflix. I miss the Netflix.

Oh, I nearly forgot about Pandora online radio, which isn't available here either.

Good thing I adore so many things (and people) in Australia.
