May 25, 2010 seriously started the application fingerprints taken($15 a set) and mailed to FBI, Canada, State of NC along with corresponding fees ($18, $25, $16) Orange County and Durham County records checks completed($25 each) Medical exam completed ($425) July 14, 2010 Mailed completed application and all police checks, medicals, sponsor forms, relationship declarations and proof totally front loaded.($1785 visa fee, postage $?) July 27, 2010 Initial email confirming my application was received. Aug 15, 2010 Emailed my case worker to make sure the medicals arrived, since they were sent by a different party. Aug 17, 2010 Received notice from my caseworker that indeed my medicals had arrived. Today Aug 23, 2010, Still waiting. finding out today that its cheaper to use my skymiles to go to Europe and then book a flight to Melbourne from there. August 31 Still waiting, I know it hasn't been very long, feels like forever. Every time my phone buzzed today I was sure it was Immigrations with a nice email saying "welcome to Australia" mostly it was junk email, from some bridal show I registered for, but never actually went to. They told me 6-8 weeks from the receipt of my application and they would have an initial decision for me, 8 weeks is up next week, I think if i keep holding my breath I will soon pass out.--Unconsciousness might be the way to go so I don't quite realize how much I miss A. Sept 25, 2010, It's now been over 8 weeks since I received the email assigning my caseworker, 10 weeks since they debited my account, still no word, reading stories of everybody else's visas being approved is now torture instead of excitement. I keep wondering if there is something wrong with my application. Going crazier than I ever thought I could be... Oct 1, 2010--11 weeks since debiting account, had to contact D.L. yesterday found out he was out of office again for 4 days this week, 4 days the other week too, hoping I have not been forgotten. Did get an email when he returned to office, stating he got the address change for my fiance, and saying I would hear from him soon...heres hoping soon is monday! October 6, 2010 Soon wasn't Monday, but it was Wednesday, the CO needs more paperwork from my fiance. I have a phone interview scheduled for November 22. November 22, 2010 Phone Interview :S, VISA GRANTED AN HOUR LATER! yay!

Less than a week to my interview, I dreamed about it last night. I am so glad it's almost here. I am ready to see my darling again. I am ready to spend Christmas together. He got all his paperwork in, and was able to find some work which is kudos towards not needing an AoS. Tried packing last night, more stuff than space. Mentally ready to go physically, I am not holding my breath. |

Thanks everyone, visa paperwork hard copy made it here yesterday, tickets for my flight were booked this morning and I have 13 days until I leave! yay! |
