I missed out on the Gorillaz which was a bummer... would love to see U2 again but definitely no money for those tickets.

Thinking about Muse, Linkin Park and Ed Kowalczyk (former lead singer to Live)

Its at least encouraging to know that so many bands come to Australia to perform!

i'm not much into the concert scene but my hubby is. he and his friends who live in various places always get together for concerts. last year he went to melbourne to see slayer and this year is metallica in adelaide and iron maiden in melbourne. he has been pretty happy with bands touring here now as before i guess they didn't come here as much.

Celtic Woman, Sydney Entertainment Center, October 22.

I saw them in 2008. Unfortunately, since then, two vocalists have departed - so they're now 3 singers and 1 fiddler.

Back in the day... hubby has seen both U2 and Elton John here in Australia. I haven't been to a concert in awhile mostly a money issue and I'm sure tickets here are wayyyyy spendy. I do have a friend who took (will take - can't remember the concert date) his 9 yr old daughter to the Gorillaz... I'm like don't waste the ticket on her! Take ME! oh well...

I may have to scrap up the pennies for some of these upcoming shows. I would love to see Muse in concert - I've seen Linkin Park during the Warped Tour - I think thats what it was called?? Not sure now!

I saw the U2 concert (same tour) back at the Meadowlands last year. It was amazing! The stage is unbelievable and Bono delivers every time.

We are going to Bon Jovi this December, unless I decide to sell them.
Be conscious of the present moment.

I haven't been to a concert in donkey's years... too far away, too little cash, not enough time. :( But yes, it's great that Oz is a tour destination for many acts!

DH & I are seeing Crowded House in November and Jack Johnson in December. These will be my first big venue concerts, besides the ACL festival, in 10 years or more. :)

I'm going in a group to the Falls Festival - my boyfriend's mum lives just outside the festival site and her household gets free/reduced price tickets. :)

Oooh, is Ed coming here?! Live is (was?) my favorite band... I've seen them half a dozen times and have stood outside in the freezing cold in Detroit once February waiting to meet them! But I have an autographed ticket and pictures with him and Chad Gracey for my suffering, one of the top ten nights of my life! ;) Would love to see Ed again.

Tickets are sooo expensive here, that's the only problem! But I still love a good concert and have seen heaps here- DMB, the Killers, Crowded House, Green Day, Guns n Roses, and a whole heap of great acts at Sound Relief and Live Earth. Would've loved to see Bon Jovi in Dec, but of course I'll be home then! Figures.

Yes Ed is coming to Aus!! It looks like he'll be playing smaller venues which I love attending! I have always wanted to go to one of their shows so this looks like the next best opportunity!

I just checked and he'll be in Sydney on Halloween, I'm already doing the 7 Bridges walk that day! :( And he's playing at the Enmore - a great theater! Hopefully you'll get to see him! Live put on an amazing show and he was obviously a big part of that, so I'm sure he'll be great on his own.

I'd have to say the last couple of years it's gotten so much better with the acts coming here to perform. My husband and I LOVE A Day on the Green concerts. This year so far I've got our tickets to see Pat Benatar and the Bangles, Blondie and the Pretenders, and George Benson. We were going to go see U2, but the venue in Perth sucks for concerts - just not worth it for the amount of money they want.

And what's with $672 tickets to see the Eagles in a bloody stadium? :(

I got my wife to go with me to see Roger Waters, but I am 100% sure Metallica is out of the question:)

I saw them when they did that garage album release, they started out the concert with a little hanging garage light over them it as pretty cool. But that was before Lars went out Napster hunting.

I took hubby to see David Gilmour on his 40th birthday - he played the Kodak Theatre in LA and we were right up front. I wasn't a Pink Floyd fan but I certainly was after that concert! It was simply magical.

Great topic! We are pretty excited as we are hitting 4 concerts before the years end!!! First up is Metallica (Woo-Hoo!) on Oct 23, then we've got Linkin Park, Dec 7, Bon Jovi the next night, then U2 on Dec 19.....my poor ears!! LOL ~ You are right about the tix being so expensive, but we have missed SOOOO many when we lived in the states, that we are trying to make up for lost time. (BTW, we got our U2 tickets when they had the $39.90 deal, so we picked 'em up fast...pretty good seats too! For Linkin Park, we are in FRONT of the stage, but they cost us $324 for 2!!)

That's for VIP seating in the first 20 rows, one ticket. 8) oh, plus $22.65 handling to Ticketmaster.

I paid over $700 each for the David Gilmour tickets but we got all sorts of VIP goodies plus seeing him in LA's Kodak Theatre (where the Oscars are held) was pretty priceless in itself. Sooooo worth it!!!
