NOV. 1 - FBI Background Check with 'Immigration Deadline' expedite request received at Virginia Office NOV. 4 - Requested and Received Local County Police Clearance Letter NOV. 3 - Application Received in DC (not including police checks or medical) NOV. 9 - Credit Card Charged for Visa NOV. 11 - Fingerprinted and sent request for NYS Police Clearance NOV. 15 - Credit Card Charged for FBI Check NOV. 16 - Received NYS Police Clearance NOV. 17 - Received email with Case Officer (D.L.) NOV. 29 - FBI Check Arrived!!! Yay!!!, Also got my medical done today should be mailed out by the end of the week. NOV 30. - Mailed local, state and fbi police clearances along with form 80. DEC 2 - Local, State, FBI police clearances and form 80 received by Immigration DEC 6 - Medicals received by immigration JAN 24 - Impatiently send email to CO requesting status of application JAN 24 - Received email from CO stating further information needed: At least 2 statuatory declarations and phone, email, cards etc. showing our contact during our time apart FEB 5 - Express Mailed all requested documents to Washington DC FEB 7 - Documents received at Australian Embassy FEB 7 - VISA APPROVED!!!!  I almost can't believe it!!!!!  82 days from the day I was assigned my CO, not too bad!!!! Edited by Neekie721, Feb 8 2011, 08:15:59 AM.

Sounds like you are on your way!!! Good Luck! We will be sending in our PMV app. the beginning of December at the latest with or without the FBI check. So I will be in the same boat as you in a couple of weeks.

Good Luck to you as well! I will keep updating this post, hopefully it will give u a better idea. Seems a lot of the PMV posts aren't super recent. I sent the app in before the police checks because, I didn't stumble across this site until my app was in the mail, had no idea how long the FBI check was going to take! |

My PMV is one of the not so recent ones, I applied in July I am awaiting my interview next week and I will post more on my time line then, Hoping to see my Darling for Christmas, and finally be home. Lots of Luck on your journey, glad you found YDU, its been so helpful to me. Even if its just a place where people don't think I am crazy for moving around the world. |

My FBI check arrived on Nov 26! Your check came back quick, mine took about 7 weeks... Still waiting for my fiance's paperwork to come so I can add mine and then send it on to D.C. How did the medical go? That is all that is left for me to do. Congrats on your progress for the PMV. I am chugging right behind you.....

Medical was no problem, more annoying than anything else. They asked me all your standard questions regarding medical history, any medications, family history at least 3x each. Other than that, I had to take a blood test, urine analysis and a chest xray. Whole process was about an hour an a half, thats including the fact that I had to walk a few blocks to a different building for the xray. Not bad, they said they will have it out by the end of the week and I paid for them to FEDEX the results over night to Washington DC. It did however take me a few weeks to get an appointment though, very well could've been the usual NY doctors that are impossible to get quick appointments with but if your fiancés stuff is on the way see how long the wait for an appointment is. What state are you in? (Sorry if I've missed that in previous posts) ps. Congrats on receiving the FBI check, what a relief right?! |

UPDATE! Just heard from my CO. He's requested some stat decs and some email/phone records from our time apart so that he can 'finalise my application quickly'!!! I've got 28 days to get it to him however I plan to have everything out this week! Will keep all posted! |
