Hi everyone  I've been meaning to do this for a while now as I have been extremely thankful for all the information I have learnt from this forum! I hope my little timeline so far will do the same for someone else  Aug 4th ... mailed fingerprints to FBI 6th ... received clearance letter from local Police Sep 24th ... recieved FBI checks back Jan 18th ... mailed front loaded application to Washington DC (5lbs, 10 oz...4.5" thick) 21st ... credit card charged 31st ... email assigning case worker D.L Feb 18th ... medicals done March 7th ...medical results received by immigration About me :British citizen living in the U.S. with a green card (been here since 1990). Divorced...no kids. Have been in a relationship with my fiance since august 2009...have known each other since 1992. I do have a bit of an embarassing detail to my application that i havent seen mentioned before, so i'll just throw it out there anyway!!.... during my last visit to australia on a Tourist Visa...i misunderstood the granted stay period for the visa ( i thought UPTO 12 months meant i could actually stay for 12 months...  stupid me!!) and was told when i got to customs that i wasnt allowed back in the country for three years  luckily for us the PMV is considered a different type of visa than what i'm not allowed to apply for...whew! needless to say....that plane ride back to the U.S was very dehydrating from all the tears Hope i'll have more to update soon!!! |

Hi Melbs, I have D.L. too. I haven't had any contact with him since submitting my application so I don't have any input for you, but we're all here to offer support during the wait. Best of luck to you and I'm so sorry to hear how stressful your ride back to the states was...hopefully, you'll never have to deal with anything like that ever again. Keep us posted. |

hi ladies! thanks so much for the warm welcome and the support! Kiandi....your posts have been super helpful! You asked all the same questions that i had going on in my mind....and i thought the same thing about sending in the application after the new years and holidays when everyone may be in good spirits and ready to approve quickly Erin...i checked out your timeline too...looks like we're only days apart!  Were you guys able to get copies of your medical results? I was told it would be up to the Embassy to decide that  seems weird not to be able to have your own medical records given to you....not even after the application process is over. |

hey Lisa Thanks!...nice to meet you too! hehe i was actually hoping we'd get D.L after reading a few posts on this forum! Opening email every day was becoming like Charlie and the Wonka bars! By the way....it's so nice of you visa veterans to still be hanging out in the wings to help us newbies out Thanks so much!

I am still so grateful to YDU and the people that helped me keep what little sanity I had during the process, that I feel I need to pay it on for others jumping through the same hoops!  Many people just get their questions answered and we never hear from them again, but then for the others of us that have been here for more than 6 years, and even been able to meet some of the others, it's been fun!

I'm glad my posts helps you out. I still come up with lots of questions! lol Just check out the Thread "Little Random Questions"!! That's me asking heaps of questions and Lisa always seems to know the answers. Thank god she already experienced all 3 stages of the visa process!! Gee your lucky, I wish I had D.L.!!!
