It's Pierogi Party time

Hey All,

We had a big discussion about pierogis in the food section and I promised that I would have a party at my place and show anyone who wanted how to make amazing (and easy) pierogis. I hope you were all serious cause I was! I got my pasta maker and everything else I need so I figured we could go ahead and get it scheduled. The dates that are good for me right now are Saturday the 27th of August or Saturday the 10th of September.

Anyone interested? Anyone have any input on dates?

I figured I would make all the filling the day before and refrigerate it - people who come can bring flour, eggs, etc.... Depending on how many people come the take home will likely be around 4-6 dozen pierogis per person (they keep great in the freezer for a few months).

Anyway, respond here if you are interested and we can go from there!

So excited!

Mimi

Rats, wish you were in Melbourne. I'd love some pierogis, even Mrs T's in the box would do at this point!

Ooo... wish I was in Sydney. Melbourne folk, the ones I got at that deli in Southland were actually pretty freakin' good. They weren't as good as Grandma's but they'd put up a good fight against Mrs. T's. :) You should do a post like Pioneer Woman with step by step instructions so we can PRETEND we're at the party!

Mimi, I'm in!! My husband and I arrive on the 14th and have no plans yet for those dates, so either dates work, but the sooner the better! :woohoo:

P.S. Is this open to everyone? My husband is interested too and has never even heard of a pierogi. I haven't had one in ages. We are both foodies so it sounds like something fun and different to do.

Oh I so wish that I could write and take pictures like Pioneer Woman. Plus, I never use a recipe - It's a horrible habit!

Melon, of course you and your husband can both come! This is not a gender-specific party :) If he gets too bored with the food stuff, my husband will be there and they can solve all the world's problems while we cook!

Ok! So, as of right now, there are 3 attendees: Cristin, Melon and Melon's man...

Sounds great! My husband (Tom) will start out helping to cook, but if there are other guys then I can see him just chatting and coming over to sample the fare. We look forward to it so we'll slot in the time once you decide on the date. Thanks again for being so welcoming! Maybe sometime later on we can invite people over to make some other type of food that is hard to find in Oz. :)

Well, I can promise anyone who comes LOTS of beer. I ordered a six pack each of Corona and Peroni in my last on-line grocery order and they accidentally gave me a case each! There is no way I can drink my way through all of that alone! :)

Oh man, this is such a good idea! I really want to come... not sure if I can make it though... cause it is Ivan's bday and I am sure he'll be having a party. What time is your party gonna be in the afternoon or evening?
