Got married in Brisbane April 2011 Sent in application last week of May 2011 sans FBI and meds Sent in application to FBI at the same time Mid June received email notification that my application was accepted This email recommended getting FBI and med checks done I called to question required med for non-migrating child under 18 The person I talked to said to wait until my case officer told me to get medicals also that the child requirement was to speed up the process later if I decided to add I decided that the original email recommending getting the meds was enough third week in July 2011 I got my medicals in Atlanta Received the FBI checks about the same time and sent them in as well |

Hey there! Thanks. I'm usually pretty good with the waiting game, but I'm ready to get going on this. I do not have facebook, but this is possibly one of the best reasons to get onto it. I'm really anxious to get permission to work so I can offically apply for a job there. I'm always searching and it's frustrating to not be able to apply when I see a potential. So, there's a group of Americans in Queensland? What is that all about? A support group? Meetings? |

Jim - we're an off-shoot of this group. We are trying to do regular get togethers - my family has hosted 2 BBQs so far and just last weekend we had a get together at a Mexican restaurant and there were 40+ people in attendance and we all had a blast. My family is hosting a Halloween party and we're trying to organize another get together between now and then. So its more like a social club and support group all wrapped into one. I have no idea if people get denied... I haven't heard of anyone getting denied but I'm not sure! |

Ah, so you've seen her as well. So, Queensland is a big place. We're (she's) in Thornlands, kind of half way between Brisbane and Gold Coast, beautiful place. Whereabouts do you guys get together? |

Jim - we just had our last get together in Cleveland! My family loved the area so much that we are thinking of moving there in the next year or so. We have other members who live in that area as well. We get together wherever someone organizes a get together. In September, we'll be on the Gold Coast at a restaurant, in October at my house on the Gold Coast. We're trying to organize something for Nov/Dec but trying to move it up North to the Brisbane area but it takes someone willing to get it together. So we'll see. |

AAHHHHHHH That is so cool! Now, I noticed that you said you were at a fantastic mexican place. How does that fit with a post I read earlier that said there was no good mexican food in Aus? Yes, that is a very nice area, liked it a lot. |
